On 26 January 2024, a meeting of the International Advisory Committee of the Dushanbe Water Process was held to promote the implementation of the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”, 2018-2028, as well as the Third High-Level International Conference on the International Decade for Action, which will be held 10-13 June 2024 in Dushanbe.
The meeting was held in video conference format, co-chaired by Mr. Sulton Rahimzoda, Special Envoy of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Water and Climate Coalition Leaders, and Mr. Saroj Kumar Jha, Global Director of the Global Water Practice of the World Bank with the participation of members of the IAC, their alternates, and other stakeholders.
At the meeting, information was presented on the work done to prepare for the 3rd Dushanbe Water Action Decade Conference, including the discussion of draft Terms of Reference for organizing and conducting interactive dialogues and forums of the 3rd Dushanbe Water Action Decade Conference. Committee members expressed their views on the above issues, as well as the possibility of using the Dushanbe Water Process and the 3rd Dushanbe Water Action Decade Conference as platforms for tracking the implementation of the outcomes of the UN 2023 Water Conference.
During the meeting, participants exchanged views on the draft Concept Note and structural program, themes of the interactive dialogues, as well as possible outcome documents of the Third High-Level International Conference on the International Decade for Action.
