Arrival at the airport
Upon arrival at Dushanbe International Airport, pick up of participants (shuttle bus) from the airport to the hotels will be arranged by the Conference Secretariat.
Accommodation
Participants are responsible for the booking of hotel rooms (official delegations will be accommodated at the Government Guest House). Expenses related to hotel accommodation should be covered by participants, unless otherwise specified. Information on the hotels in Dushanbe is available online.
Information on accommodation of the official delegations will be forwarded to them additionally upon receiving confirmation on participation and composition of the delegation.
Security issues
All participants, exhibitors and media representatives must get badges in order to have access to the Conference venue. Entrance to the “Kohi Somon” venue is only upon submission of the badge. Issuance of badges will take place from 4 to 6 June 2022 from 10:00 until 20:00 at the hotel “Tajikistan” located at Shohtemur Street 22, Dushanbe.
Sanitary and anti-epidemiological measures
Due to continuing spread of COVID-19 in a number of countries throughout the world and in order to prevent the importation of infection into the country, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population establishes the following requirements for the participants of the Second Dushanbe Water Action Decade Conference to be held on 6-9 June 2022 in Dushanbe crossing the state border of the Republic of Tajikistan:
– a COVID-19 vaccination certificate (electronic or hard copy if available) should be presented at the border check-point; – a medical certificate (PCR test result) on the absence of SARS-CoV-2 valid within 72 hours (electronic or hard version) has to be presented;
– in some cases, depending on the current situation in the country where the participant arrived from, PCR testing can be carried out at Dushanbe International Airport and other checkpoints across the state border of the Republic of Tajikistan;
– wearing medical protective masks in the venues of the Dushanbe Water Conference events is not mandatory. However, participants may wear masks in mentioned areas if they wish to do so.
Upon departure from the Republic of Tajikistan, participants who need PCR testing can be tested at medical points organized in most hotels in Dushanbe including Hilton, Serena, Hyatt Regency, Tajikistan, Dushanbe, Atlas, Rumi, Grand Hotel, Avesto, Government Residence, Istiqlol, Guliston. In the absence of such points in smaller hotels, participants can approach the points located in the above-mentioned hotels.
Local transportation
Public transport in Dushanbe includes buses, trolley-busses, mini-buses and taxi. Taxi is widely available in the city and relatively low cost.
Transportation of the participants from the hotels “Tajikistan”, “Hyatt Regency Dushanbe”, “Serena”, “Sheraton”, Atlas and Rumi to the Conference venue and back will be arranged within a fixed timetable.
Currency exchange
Official currency in Tajikistan is Somoni (TJS). Information about rates is available on the website of the National Bank of Tajikistan (www.nbt.tj).
Currency exchange offices are available in banks, hotels and at the airport. ATMs are available in most banks, hotels and shopping centers.
Weather
The climate in Dushanbe is continental subtropical, with dry and hot summers. In June, the air can heat up to 25-35 °C in daytime.

Electricity
Electrical circuit voltage in Tajikistan 220 V with frequency 50 Hz. Plugs of your electrical equipment, charger may not match the power outlet, therefore, an adaptor will be needed.
