As part of World Water Week, on 18 August 2023, the 38th meeting of the UN-Water mechanism was held, which discussed the next steps of the UN 2023 Water Conference held from 22 to 24 March 2023 in New York under the co-chairmanship of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
Mr. Sulton Rahimzoda – Special Envoy of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Water and Climate Coalition Leaders, Chairman of the Executive Committee of IFAS took part in this event and informed the participants about the efforts made by Tajikistan in providing a platform to review the implementation of the outcomes of the UN 2023 Water Conference, including use of the Dushanbe water process.
He also noted that with the leadership of Tajikistan, the Netherlands, and Senegal, as well as the support of other UN Member States, a draft new UNGA resolution on the next steps of the UN 2023 Water Conference, within which regular conferences are to be held, is moving forward.
