On the sidelines of the Second Stakeholder Consultative Meeting of the 10th World Water Forum, on 12-13 October in Bali, Indonesia, a meeting was held between the Special Envoy of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Water and Climate Coalition Leaders, Mr. Sulton Rahimzoda, with the Minister of Public Works and Housing Development of Indonesia by Mr. Basuki Hadimuljono.
At the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the preparatory and organizational issues of the 10th World Water Forum, which will be held from 18 to 24 May 2024 in Bali, Indonesia.
Mr. Rahimzoda noted the importance of promoting the outcomes of the UN 2023 Water Conference within the preparatory process, the Forum itself and other global water-related events, including the Dushanbe Water Process, and emphasized the need to continue joint efforts in this direction. The parties also discussed the next steps to implement the Water Action Agenda, and other specific measures to ensure that water issues are constantly at the center of the global political agenda.
In this context, the parties also exchanged views on the interaction between Tajikistan and Indonesia on the sidelines of COP28 in Dubai in order to strengthen the role of water in the climate agenda, including the outcome documents of COP28.
