On 18 January 2022, a meeting was held in Dushanbe between Mr. S. Rahimzoda – Co-Chair of the Dushanbe Water Process, and Mr. Kenzo Hiroki – Coordinator of the High-Level of Experts and Leaders Panel on Water and Natural Disasters (HELP) and Professor of the National Institute for Policy Studies of Japan.

During the meeting, issues of cooperation between the Second Dushanbe Water Decade Conference and the 4th Asia-Pacific Water Summit were discussed, including the program, structure, and thematic sessions of the 4th Asia-Pacific Water Summit, as well as the organization of a special session dedicated to the Second Dushanbe Water Decade Conference within the framework of the Summit.

The 4th Asia-Pacific Water Summit will be held on 23-24 April 2022 in Kumamoto, Japan, and is considered as one of the preparatory events for the UN Conference on the Midterm Review of the implementation of the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”, 2018-2028, which will be held in 2023 in New York, co-chaired by the Republic of Tajikistan and the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
